WWDC 23: Apple may not unveil M3 iPad or Mac, just 15-inch MacBook Air

As we gear up for WWDC 23, Apple-related rumour mills are in full swing, and one likelihood is looking more certain by each passing day – M3 chips based iPads and Macs at WWDC 23.

If the rumours are accurate, though, this could indicate it's not the case. It seems that the eagerly awaited M3-powered iPads and Macs from Apple may not be available until 2024.

The eagerly anticipated M3-powered iPads and Macs from Apple might not be available until 2024. A Twitter user going by the handle @Tech_Reve made this claim based on insider information.

Update: No M3 Mac or iPad for this year Due to yield issues with TSMC not being able to supply enough of the M3 to Apple, Apple has delayed the release of the M3 until next year. So there will be no M3 Macs and no M3 iPads this year. pic.twitter.com/faL9l7n53s

At the moment, the 3nm A17 processors used in Apple's iPhone 15 Pro variants are produced by TSMC. The Mac-series "M3" chips, which employ the same 3nm process, are another project they are working on.

Substantial efficiency and speed gains are promised by these chips. Meanwhile, TSMC has reportedly faced some difficulties recently with the 3nm manufacturing process and yeild to meet Apple's demand.

If the allegations are genuine, there won't be a new processor introduced at WWDC 23 that is slated for June 5. Users probably wouldn't voice many complaints, though, because the items already on the market work admirably under the circumstances of today.

Naturally, this also means that a new Mac won't be released. Apple is most likely to launch a 15-inch MacBook Air model featuring an M2 processor, according to some recent news. The battery life of the updated version is anticipated to be be impressive. We'll see.
